This was the first big event held in Victoria managed by the MAAA. As you may know, this event started last year which was introduced by Stephen Green from RCRM Magazine. The MAAA has invested a lot of time and funds to run the event again, with a 20% increase in crowed participation for this year. Nearly all disciplines were represented with some of the best pilots taking to the air with their models. The grandstands along the main runway were pretty full for most of the day as the crowed continue to come through the gates enjoying what was on offer and buying a number of different items on sale. The trade stalls were not as many, but this year we did have Model Engines put on a display of their hardware and items available through hobby stores. There was a lot of gear on show and provided a good range of model products. There were other stalls such as KMRC Jets, the Hobby Man etc. and provided a wide selection of different model items. To complement the display, there slot cars, drag cars, models tanks, RFDES simulator and a number of static displays to promote a number of other type of hobbies/sports to give the crowed an idea of how much is available and to do. Like all hobbies, you don’t have to spend lots of money to enjoy it, you just need enough to please yourself…. Have a look at the photos to get an idea on the show. It may be run next year as well so if you have not been, it is a good opportunity to take the family and have a day out. Food and drinks are available with the entertainment going all day….. Ed
