This is our annual scanner event and this year we held it over one day. 15 pilots took part with pilots coming from a number of Clubs. The weather was fantastic and everyone that participated had a great day. Plenty of laughs and stirring to keep things light, but safe. We managed to complete 20 heats with a fly off at the end. The Geelong boys did very well with first and third with Tony Curzon taking out second place, using Garry Thiele second scanner he built. Andrew Pascoe for the second year running won the best crash award when he come around pylon 2 and over corrected. The ground come up fairly fast as full noise inverted. But at least this time Andrew was able to almost complete the day so next look out as Andrew will be there again. There were some other incident which resulted in some modifications to the some scanners with mixed results. Have a look at the photos on the left and you will get the idea. Of course this could not happen without the fantastic help of Club Members and Simone who helped out in the canteen and Mark Peterson who ended up as Chief cook. All in all it was a great day enjoyed by all who attended. So why not get a scanner ready for 2015. There is a lot of fun to be had and plenty of laughs. See you then... Ed
